Subsystem Discussion
  • General
    • Any word on when Darpa money will arrive? The contract is at the FBI being reviewed.  No word on when.  UCLA is updating us.
    • Need to schedule in slip to our schedule so suggests Major Buckley.  Also seeing time difficulties with Lockheed.
    • Twiggs suggested making Woody Allen as close to flight as possible so that we can work on ops after we deliver.
  • System Integration
    • Update on OGIWED work.  Work going well.  Pico info given to Sean for integration.  Due date on next revision is Nov 18th.
    • Need complete OGIWED by the 18th (pico launcher and accelerometers/magnetometer).
  • Accelerometers / Magnetometer
    • Update.  Wade worked on top level, heirarchal diagrams.  The next design meeting will be Friday morning.
  • Communications
    • FCC Approval.  Prof. Twiggs update.  Twiggs is meeting with someone to help him with the FCC on Thursday.  He'll send out an update.
  • Launch Interface
    • Update. David has developed a list of action items.  This list will be finalized tomorrow at the design meeting.  Cup/cones delivered.  Jin has a possible connection mount for Opal to the NEA.  Work needs to be done on launcher to meet Nov 20 shake date.
  • Picosatellite Launcher
    • Update on EM.  EM will be delivered on Nov 13.  Dicronite is only a 2 day lead time.
      • Contact NEA?  Not yet.   Someone will contact them about 28V signal and possible connection options.
    • Update on instrumentation.  Instrumentation doc updated.  Available in Opal directory.
    • Update on launch sequence. Documented and described.  Scott will send out email with location.
  • Power
    • Update.  Could not get time on hte laser cam.  Will try again next week.
    • Update from PIWG?  Need to address thirty minute delay in turn on from separation.
    • News on glue, masks?  Still working on glue.  Kind of pricey.
    • Any news from Lockheed? Still no word for Lockheed.
  • Structure
    • Update. Mass model will be complete by next week.
    • We need to come up with a shipping box for the mass model and for flight.
  • Testing
    • Update. Lockheed delays.  The time frame they quote is early January.  They recommended a sine sweep in addition to our described testing.
    • Shake at Deskin.  Deskin is checking on their shake table.  They seem very positive about working with us.
    • We need to shake by the 30th when we have to deliver our mass model.  We need to get moving on this and be aggressive about finding a shake table.
  • JAWSAT
    • PIWG/CDR update.  Jamie will link up PIWG and teleconference meeting minutes done by Jeff. Mass model needs to be delivered by the 30th of Nov.  We therefore have to shake by then!  Next PIWG will be at Vandenberg on Dec 2.  If you're interested in going, let Jeff know by Friday noon.  Maj. Buckley concerned about lack of margin in schedule and no license.
      • Launch turn on after separation?
      • Create master list of issues that need to be resolved.
  • Ops
    • Update.  Sapphire's ops guide is being studied and Opal will build from that.
