Subsystem Discussion

Picosat Launcher Engineering Model -- Jeff
  • Order rect. and Belleville springs, latch cables -- rectangular springs have been ordered, but it will be 5 weeks to delivery; Jeff to order Belleville springs;  Andy ordered cables and suager -- to be delivered by Friday
  • Fabrication quote and production -- delivery Nov. 13
  • In-house part fabrication -- Jeff to get part list to Santiago
  • Dry lube application -- requires $95 min. order, has a 2-day turn around, just need to bring parts in and drop them off when ready
  • Instrumentation -- Eric coordinated with Sean re: OGIWED and launcher connections and pin assignments, still need to nail down assignments
    Hall effect sensors not working -- located documentation, try this week to get them to work
  • Picosat mass models -- Jamie to call Aerospace, talk to mentors and SCU to find out details on their mass models
Launch Interface -- David
  • Actuator redesign and method of attaching OPAL -- meeting scheduled for Tues. at 2:30 pm to discuss interface issues and options
    Need to talk to NEA and ask about ability to receive 28V signal to actuator and ability to rotate bolt while tightening it down
  • Part fabrication

Testing -- David and Andy
  • Interface, OPAL structure, and launcher EM  verification testing  -- Mike McMann called and said that Nov. test won't work.  He estimates 5-day requirement to complete tests.  David to call him and ask what can be done to decrease that time.  David to tell them we are willing to be "on call," help with the setup and testing, and split up the testing time if necessary.  Jamie to talk to Twiggs about re-establishing contact to ensure that we get the testing that has been promised.

JAWSAT and Orbital Sciences Corp. -- Jeff
  • Interface Control Document update -- need to add to ICD and send to WSU
  • JAWSAT CDR & PIWG Oct. 29 at Weber St. -- OPAL action item summary posted here,  full minutes to be posted after they are completed by OSSS
  • OPAL mass model Nov. 30 -- we will likely receive it back by Jan 1 since their shake test is set for 12/7 and they are done with the mass model after that
  • Battery trickle charger through ASU -- Carlos GS to coordinate with ASU

  • Schedule updates  -- need to update overall OPAL schedule and include margin
