Subsystem Discussion

Picosat Launcher Engineering Model -- Jeff
  • Order rect. and Belleville springs, latch cables -- springs are all ordered, latch cables should be in this week -- Andy checking on them
  • Fabrication quote and production
  • In-house part fabrication -- Jeff to create drawings and give them to Santiago by tomorrow;  get screws for EM from Ginzton
  • Dry lube application
  • Instrumentation -- will be ready by Friday
  • Picosat mass models -- Aerospace will have theirs complete by Friday and then FedEx it to us; need to find out status of SCU and mentors
Launch Interface -- David
  • Actuator redesign and method of attaching OPAL I-- turning the actuator rod is OK, even OK to lubricate with either dry or wet lube to facilitate turning
  • Part fabrication
  • Structural analysis
  • Production drawings
  • Actuator -- 28 V signal OK, but need to check if power supply OK with that because of low resistance (1.7 ohms) in actuator, will draw high current
Structure -- Santiago
  • Machining coordination  -- need launcher tray hole placements for actuators and cable guides
    Brian -- interface web
Bruce -- solar cell epoxy masks
Jin -- calculate amount of material to take off the cone
  • Shake structure
  • Static loads test
  • Flight structure:
    • Parts to send to WSU for mass model -- top plate, all L-brackets, interface
Testing -- David and Andy
  • Interface, OPAL structure, and launcher EM  verification testing -- Deskin fell through for this test, will likely be available at the first of the year.  David has list of other contacts, will call them this week
  • Testing procedures -- David to fax it to LM this week
JAWSAT and Orbital Sciences Corp. -- Jeff
  • Interface Control Document update -- Jeff to modify
  • JAWSAT CDR & PIWG Oct. 29 at Weber St.
