    • 02/07/00 - Operations update.
    • 02/03/00 - Operations update. Opal is looking good. Its sensitive to Doppler shift which makes it tricky to talk to. We've used SRI's 150 foot radio dish to talk to Opal these past two days have received excellent vehicle data.
    • 01/31/00 05:58:00 PT- Contact was made for the first time at SSDL's ground station. We even managed to download some data files. We were able to connect only about three minutes during the middle of the twelve minute pass. This seems to indicate that our station is lacking power and/or pointing incorrectly. These issues wil be resolved soon. Check out the voltage plot and the current plot that were downloaded.
    • 01/30/00 16:13:00 PST - The first full contact was made with Opal! Jean-Louis F6AGR from Paris, France, made the first connect and downloaded a brief telemetry. The Opal bus (the satellite primary systems) look execellent: battery voltages are nominal, temperatures are withing range, and currents are also nominal. We'll be trying this evening to download more detailed data. Details from Jean-Louis' contact are here.
    • 01/29/00 AM- Still in vehicle checkout phase. Having difficulty receiving/transmitting to Opal at SSDL ground station. Seems to be a ground station issue. Opal's beacon is being heard by HAMs around the world. That's a very good sign. See ops page for more info.
