Opal Update -- March 08, 2000 PM
  1. Opal is currently in nominal operations mode. All systems are functional and performing as expected. Greg and I are working to archive data downloaded as well as analysis the system.
  2. No further passes have been done at the dish. Actually, the drive motor for the dish has failed and they are in the process of repairing it. If possible, we'd like to get in and work STENSAT but don't know for sure.
  3. The SSDL ground is performing marginally. Greg and I have been operating it remotely via the internet. That's been quite nice.
  4. We're exploring additional experiments for the Opal system. We plan on uploading code to monitor bit flips in main memory. We also want to try attitude adjustment using Opal's solenoid (as suggested by Freddy). If anyone else has some interesting ideas, let us know.
