MAST and Libertad-1 Launched! E-mail

On 16 April 2007, seven cubesats were launched aboard the DNEPR rocket from Russia.  One Stanford satellite, MAST, was successfully launched and communication with it has been recently established.  Its primary tether experiment is set to commence this week.  A second satellite, Libertad-1, was successfully launched and communicated with and contains SSDL-related systems.  It's flying the first Cubesat Kit in space.  It's power board is a derivative of the Katysat system.  And it's radio was jointly developed with the Stensat Group and SSDL.  Congrats to all the successful DNEPR II Cubesats!
